Mark Formanek

Mark Formanek (* 1967 in Pinneberg near Hamburg ) is a concept artist living in Berlin .

Life

From 1988 to 1995 Formanek studied at the Art Academy in Münster and in 1996 at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London . From 2002 to 2004 he was visiting lecturer at the Art Academy in Münster.

24-hour performance in Rotterdam Central (NL)

In the video installation by the Berlin artist, craftsmen nail the time together for 24 hours as a three-meter-high number display from roof battens. You only have one minute to change the updated time.

This action takes place at Michaelisplatz in Münster. Up to the year 2040 a new sign announcing an event will be hung up every 4 years (the event was previously the exchange of this sign for a new sign which again announces a different date).
