Around 900,000 euros were spent on the Hannover Garden Region 2009 program , while 330,000 euros came from public funds. The largest item of this went to the “Neulicht am See” project with 50,000 euros ; a further 40,000 euros of the 90,000 euros project costs came from sponsorship .

course

The exhibition ran from February 7th to March 15th, 2009. The works of art were placed at a distance of about 200 to 300 meters. They were lit from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. in the morning. After the exhibition ended, the art objects were dismantled.

The exhibition period was largely accompanied by rainy weather, so that the unpaved paths around the Maschsee were muddy. There were minor technical failures in the lighting and only a few incidents of willful destruction or theft. Once, light boxes were sprayed with company logos, and the artist was accused of company advertising. In another incident, part of the work With Yoko Ono (91) in the energetic showcase plantation was stolen, but was restored after a few days. The performance your personal death of light with a boat trip across the lake was well attended.

The works of art

All works of art could be viewed on a 6.5-kilometer tour around the lake. The works of art are called clockwise. There was an information container on the Arthur-Menge-Ufer on the north bank, where tours began. The start was on the north bank opposite the Sprengelmuseum . The installations by Pablo Wendel and Suse Weber could not be seen all the time, as each was a performance .
