Xaver Gmelch
Xaver Gmelch (born April 26, 1899 - January 1, 1976 ) was a German motorcycle racer .
Career
Gmelch, who comes from Mainburg in Lower Bavaria , won the Garmisch Winterfahrt three times until 1928 .
In the 1928 season he was on DKW behind the Briton Syd Crabtree in the 250 cc race of the Dutch TT at the Circuit van Drenthe in Assen, the Netherlands . He then finished second and third in the Czechoslovak TT and the Austrian Grand Prix .
In 1929 Gmelch won the Kolberg bathing race on a 500 cm³ DKW .
