Fabrizio Poletti (born July 13, 1943 in Gavello ) is a former Italian football player and coach .

Player career

In the club

Fabrizio Poletti in 1961 from AC Turin committed to him first to the AC Asti in the Series D borrowed. From 1962 to 1971 he then played for Torino . With the club he won the Coppa Italia in 1967/68 and 1970/71 .

In 1971 Poletti moved to the US Cagliari , in 1974 to Sampdoria Genoa , where he ended his active career in 1975.

In the national team

Fabrizio Poletti made his debut on June 16, 1965 against Sweden in the Italian national team .

In 1970 he was in the squad of the Italians , which was runner-up at the World Cup in Mexico under Ferruccio Valcareggi . In the so-called game of the century against Germany he was substituted on in the 91st minute of the game.

In total, Poletti played six games for the Squadra Azzurra .

Coaching career

In 1993, Poletti was a coach at the Costa Rican club Deportivo Saprissa .

  • On the evening of October 15, 1967, Fabrizio Poletti was involved in a traffic accident in Turin and was slightly injured. His teammate at the time, Gigi Meroni, died.
