Specialist for confectionery technology

The specialist for confectionery technology was a state-recognized training occupation in Germany according to the Vocational Training Act . He was replaced by the confectionary technologist apprenticeship in 2014 .

The training period to become a specialist in confectionery technology is usually three years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school . In 1980, the training regulations contained the three subjects :

The amount of the training remuneration is usually based on the collective bargaining agreement. For example, the Federal Association of the German Confectionery Industry has agreed the following training allowances for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein:

  • 1st year of training: 537.00 euros
  • 2nd year of training: 607.00 euros
  • 3rd year of training: 710.00 euros.

The school part of the training to become a specialist in confectionery technology was only possible at the Central Technical College of the German Confectionery Industry (ZDS) in Solingen-Gräfrath, which is also responsible for training confectionery technologists.
