from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The professional association for management consulting, accounting and information technology (UBIT) is part of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the legal representation of interests in the following sectors: management consulting , IT services and accounting . The professional association represents over 66,000 companies and professionals. As of January 1, 2013, UBIT became a legal representative organization for those accounting professions that were previously represented by the Chamber of Public Accountants due to a new federal law regulation. Since then, all members of commercial accounting professions have been UBIT members.

The highest body is the professional association committee appointed by the national organizations (professional groups) or its chairman, the professional association chairman. Alfred Harl ( Austrian Economic Association) has been the chairman of the trade association since 2007 , and Friedrich Bock (Austrian Economic Association) from 2001. Its predecessor was Hans-Jürgen Pollirer (Austrian Economic Association). Martin Zandonella (Austrian Business Association) and Michael Schober ( Green Economy ) are the representative of the trade association chairman, and Philipp Graf is the trade association manager. The professional association committee consists of 32 members who are appointed by the (federal state) professional groups based on the results of the Chamber of Commerce elections.

The main task is to represent interests, including lobbying, especially vis-à-vis ministries, the legislature and other addressees. Other tasks include higher qualifications and industry marketing. One instrument for working on these goals is the annual presentation of the Constantinus Award - the Austrian industry award for the best IT and consulting projects. The categories of this award reflect the areas of activity of the UBIT members, for example for consulting or Internet-related projects. A special feature of the Constantinus Award us is that it is not companies or people, but particularly successful projects that are honored, so service providers and customers receive the award together.

The professional association also operates the training and certification institute incite (institute for management consultants and information technology experts) with in-service training and certification for knowledge-based service providers.

A task that is particularly perceived by the public is that of a collective agreement partner ; Counterpart is the Union of Salaried Employees .

The association is a member of the umbrella organization of the advisory associations ICMCI and various international and national organizations.
