The house at Hospet 1, mostly referred to as the Hospet half-timbered house , is a residential building in Gunzenhausen in the Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia . The building is registered under the monument number D-5-77-136-38 as a monument in the Bavarian monument list.

Depending on the source, the building dates from the 16th, 17th or 18th centuries and was initially used as a barn. At the beginning of the 19th century and in 1918 it was converted into a residential / stable building. In 1986 the city of Gunzenhausen converted the building into a residential building. The half-timbered house Hospet is a two-story saddle roof building with striking half-timbered gables . The name Hospet comes from the Latin term for hostel , which is reminiscent of a nearby royal hostel . The name of the building has been transferred to the adjacent street.
