description

Altar and pulpit

The altar of the church dates from before the Reformation . On the sides of the altar are Saint Stephen and the namesake of the building. Above the altar there is a pulpit, which used to be located on a side wall of the building. Since the entrance to the pulpit looks like the frame of an altarpiece, it is assumed that an altarpiece was attached at this point.

baptism

The sandstone baptism was founded by Electress Hedwig and bears the inscription "Let the little children come to me - whoever believes and is baptized will be saved - but how many are baptized, they have put on Christ". Another inscription refers to the founder and the year of the foundation: "AH 1627". The electoral crown is placed above this inscription. The baptism with a flat cupa stands on a foot designed as a baluster . a corresponding baptismal font, dating from 1647 and made of clay, was replaced by a silver-plated bowl.

organ

The organ of the church was built by master organ builder Schrickel from Eilenburg in April 1864 for 225 thalers .

Others

Kremitz belongs to the parish area Annaburg-Prettin Klöden-I in the parish of Wittenberg the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The church has heating that was donated by a resident of the neighboring town of Premsendorf . Above the entrance door to the church there is an inscription with the words: "Come here and fall on your knees before God's majesty here, it is his property and house, whoever commits sin stay out."
