Flagmill
Fahnmühle is a hamlet in the Bavarian Forest , about 32 kilometers east of Regensburg in the municipality of Brennberg . The hamlet is named after the former grain mill of the same name on the Höllbach .
history
In 1805 the place belonged to the lordship of Unterbrennberg and then to the municipality of Brennberg, founded in 1818. Historical spellings of the place name are Fanmühl and Fahnmühl. Up until the 1950 census, only one residential building, that of the mill property, was recorded.
Mill
The mill property with today's house number 1 was in the possession of the Groß family for three generations, who discontinued millers when it was replaced by the Milling Act of 1957. The mill ditch that still exists today branches off about 450 meters above the mill from the Höllbach and lies on the western edge of the valley. In 1972 the property was acquired by the Leitner couple and partially renovated. Alternative projects were carried out until 1983. After the property has been sold, the Fahnmühle is used for residential purposes. The tradition of the mills in the place is continued by the mill of Josef Groß.
