The Federação Portuguesa de Badminton (German Badminton Federation of Portugal , FPB) is the highest national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in Portugal .

She is a member of the Comité Olímpico de Portugal , the Portuguese National Olympic Committee . The FPB is headquartered in Caldas da Rainha , where it also maintains its performance center ( Portuguese : Centro de Alto Rendimento , CAR) and where a large number of national and international competitions are held.

history

The association was founded in July 1954 and in March 1955 a member of the world association BWF , at that time still known as the International Badminton Federation . In 1977 the Portuguese association became a member of the European umbrella organization Badminton Europe , which at that time was still operating as the European Badminton Union .
