The Polski Związek Badmintona (PZBad for short) is the highest national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in Poland . The association, based in Warsaw , was founded on May 29, 1977 in Głubczyce .

history

Although the first national badminton championships were held in Poland in 1964, it was not until 1977 that a national umbrella organization was founded. On 29 May 1977 representatives of ZKS Polonia Glubczyce, SKS Start Gdynia, KS Stal Brzezinka-Mysłowice, came KS Stal FSO Warszawa , BZKS Chrobry Opole, KS Unia Bieruń Stary, GHKS Bolesław Bukowno, AZS AWF Katowice and Wrocław in AZS Głubczyce in the Upper Silesian Voivodeship Opole together to found the association. The first day of the association took place on November 7th in Warsaw . The association had already become a member of the Badminton World Federation , then known as the International Badminton Federation , through the Polish National Sports Federation . In 1977 the PZB became a member of the European Badminton Union .
