Badminton Nederland
Badminton Nederland is the top national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in the Netherlands . The association was founded in 1931 as the Nederlandse Badminton Bond (NBB) and renamed Badminton Nederland in 2010 .
history
Badminton was first played in the Netherlands in the 1920s. On November 15, 1931 , the national association was founded in Noordwijk . In 1936 the NBB became a founding member of the Badminton World Federation , then known as the International Badminton Federation . The development of the sport in the country was suddenly stopped by the Second World War. After the war, however, the prewar years could be continued seamlessly. In 1967 the NBB became a founding member of the continental umbrella organization Badminton Europe , then still operating under the name European Badminton Union . On January 30, 2010, the NBB was renamed Badminton Nederland.
