Gibraltar Badminton Association
The Gibraltar Badminton Association is the top national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in Gibraltar . The association was founded on September 30, 1968.
history
Even before the association was founded, there were badminton competitions in Gibraltar. Gibraltar Command Inter Unit Badminton Cup Tournaments and Gibraltar Command Badminton Championships were introduced by British personnel in 1958 . After its establishment, the association became a member of the Badminton World Federation , then known as the International Badminton Federation . In 1986 they joined the continental umbrella organization Badminton Europe , at that time still operating as the European Badminton Union . The national title fights started in 1978, the international title fights in 1986 .
