Federazione Italiana Badminton

The Federazione Italiana Badminton ( FIBa ) is the highest national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in Italy . The association was founded in 1976 .

history

The first Italian badminton association existed from March 1961 to 1966 in Padua, founded by Raimondo Simonetti. This association was a member of the world association from July 1961. Other centers of badminton in Italy were Merano and Bolzano. On June 16, 1974, a Cavalier Aurelio Chiappero informed the Italian national sports federation that he wanted to found a Federazione Italiana del Volano (FIDV) . In 1976 the Associazione Italiana Badminton (AIB) was constituted , which Squash joined to form the Associazione Italiana Badminton Squash (AIBS) . As a result, the association became a member of the Badminton World Federation , then known as the International Badminton Federation , and in 1977 a member of the European Badminton Union .
