Badminton Malta is the top national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in Malta . The association was founded in 1970 as the Badminton Association of Malta , but the association's pioneers date back to the 1950s.

history

The previous version of the Maltese Association, which was founded in August 1952, had been a member of the Badminton World Federation , then known as the International Badminton Federation , since March 1954 . In 1960 and 1970 the association was re-established after gaming operations had almost completely come to a standstill in 1968. In 1972 one joined the continental umbrella organization Badminton Europe , at that time still operating as the European Badminton Union . In 1953 the national title fights started , in 1971 the international title fights .
