The Federação Portuguesa de Basquetebol (FPB) is the national umbrella organization for basketball in Portugal . It was founded on August 17, 1927 and was one of the eight founding members of the World Basketball Federation (FIBA) in 1932 .
The association is based in Lisbon . The president is Mário Rui Tavares Saldanha.
The FPB looks after the Portuguese national basketball team and organizes the most important national leagues and cup competitions, including the highest national championship, the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB) , which has been held since 1932 .
