The Federação Portuguesa de Canoagem ( FPC , port. For: Portuguese Canoe Federation ) is the governing body for Canoeing (port .: Canoagem) in Portugal . The FPC is based in Vila Nova de Gaia (previously Porto ).

She belongs u. a. the International Canoe Association , the European Canoe Association , the Confederação do Desporto de Portugal and the Comité Olímpico de Portugal , the National Olympic Committee of Portugal. 80 clubs in Portugal are members of the FPC.

The FPC was founded on May 10, 1979 in Porto and one year later was accepted into the International Canoe Association .

For the first time, the FPC organized the Olympic participation of canoeists at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul .

The greatest success (as of 2015) , in addition to a large number of medals at European and World Championships, is the participation in the 2012 Olympics in London . Fernando Pimenta and Emanuel Silva won silver in a two-person kayak over 1000 m.

The FPC also held a number of international championships, including the 2013 European Canoeing Championships in the rowing performance center ( Centro de Alto Rendimento ) of the association in Montemor-o-Velho .

President is Victor Manuel Taborda Félix (as of 2015) . In addition to the presidium, the association management by four vice-presidents, and the general assembly, the FPC has four other organs:

  • Conselho de Justiça (German: Judicial Council)
  • Conselho de Disciplina (German: Disciplinary Council)
  • Conselho de Arbitragem (German: Arbitration Council)

Finances

The FPC's budget for 2015 includes expenditures totaling € 2,535,296.22 (2014: € 2,037,882.72) for association operations, popular sports, competitive sports and events, including international ones .

This was offset by income in the same amount. These are made up as follows:

  • State Sports Institute ( IDJP ): € 799,637.53 (2014: 1,112,421.18)
  • Public sports foundation Fundação Desporto de Portugal : € 350,000 (2014: -)
  • Portuguese NOK ( Comité Olímpico de Portugal ): € 433,420 (2014: 344,830)
  • Membership and association fees: € 675,000 (2014: 300,000)
  • Sponsoring, marketing, advertising: € 150,000 (2014: 150,000)
  • various other income: € 127,238.69 (2014: 130,631.54)
