The FPTA organizes a variety of championships and cup competitions in the country, including indoor championships for all classes ( Prova Nacional de Sala ) and the national field championships for women and men ( Prova Nacional de Campo ). She also looks after the Portuguese archers at international competitions, including the Olympic Games .

Finances

The FPTA closed the 2014 financial year with a profit of € 10,038.35, after € 25,689.83 in the previous year. The income totaling € 127,897.39 was offset by expenses totaling € 117,072.70. Most of the income came from public subsidies (€ 94,893.51) and only a good quarter came from original association activities.

This means that the FPTA is in a comparatively favorable economic situation in the midst of the generally difficult situation of most Portuguese sports associations, which are striving for increasing income and increased cost control with falling public subsidies, in a persistently difficult economic environment. The reason is the government's rigid austerity policy and the tense overall economic situation in Portugal as a result of the euro crisis .
