The Federação Portuguesa de Rugby ( FPR ) is the national umbrella organization for rugby union in Portugal . It was founded in 1926. In 1934 he was a founding member of the European Amateur Rugby Federation (FIRA). He has been a member of the International Rugby Board since 1988 . The association is based in Lisbon .

The association organizes u. a. the national championships with the first division ( Campeonato Português de Rugby - Divisão de Honra ) and the activities of the Portuguese national rugby union team .
