A 2.3 km long barrier-free circular path, which was opened on August 6, 2009, leads around the pool pond . The path is surrounded by reed beds , small forests and extensively used wet meadows . This circular route for hikers and walkers is also passable in winter and is pram and wheelchair friendly. Nature reserve

The pool pond, together with the chain of ponds near Pichlberg, the Großer Hammerweiher and the inflow and silting area of the Neuweiher and other ponds, was declared a nature reserve by the government of Lower Bavaria from March 1, 2003. It is also the starting point and destination for several marked circular hiking trails such as the Große Büscherlweg and “ Ums Brandmoos ”, after which hiking pins can also be purchased.
