After Wham! Broke up in 1986, George Michael worked on his debut album and Faith was one of the first songs he wrote for the album.
The release took place on October 12, 1987, in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Belgium and Italy, the pop-rock classic became a number one hit.
Music video
At the beginning of the music video, a jukebox plays the song I Want Your Sex until it switches to Faith. From there, George Michael plays the song with a guitar, wearing sunglasses, a three-day beard , a leather jacket, jeans from Levi Strauss & Co. and cowboy shoes.
