Fajã Grande is a freguesia (municipality) in the Lajes das Flores district on the Azores island of Flores . It lies on a coastal plain at the foot of a steep wall several hundred meters high. As the westernmost settlement on the island, it is also the westernmost town in Europe. The isle of Monchique or Ilhéu do Monchique (31 ° 16 '24 "W), Fajã Grande in front of the west, forms the westernmost point of Europe.
