Falesia ( Greek Φαλαισία ( f. Sg. )) Was a municipality in the highlands of Arcadia on the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece until 2010 . The village of Falesia was recognized under the name Boura (Μπούρα ( f. Sg. )) In 1912 as a rural community (kinotita) . In 1920 the name was changed to Falesia. On the occasion of the incorporation of numerous neighboring villages, Falesia was raised to the status of a municipality (dimos) in 1997 . This municipality was incorporated into Megalopoli in 2011 , where it has since formed one of three municipal districts.
The municipality is dominated by the northern part of the Taygetos Mountains. The settlement structure is rural with very small towns and a correspondingly low population density. The village of Falesia, which gives the municipality its name, has only 150 inhabitants. In contrast to the municipality of Falesia, the village is still called Boura after the nearby monastery of the same name.
Today's municipality of Falesia is made up of the following twelve localities including their settlements, for more details see under Megalopoli # structure . The administrative seat of the municipality of Falesia was Leondari , the largest town within the municipality.
