The Fandarja ( Tajik Фондарьё ) is a left tributary of the Serafshan in the Sughd province in northern Tajikistan .

The Fandarja arises at the settlement Serafshan-2 at the confluence of Iskander Darya (left) and Jaghnob (right). The source river Iskanderdarja drains the Iskanderkul mountain lake . The Fandarja flows in a narrow gorge in a northerly direction through the Serafschankette . The river has rapids. Finally, the Fandarja flows into the Serafshan flowing to the west at Aini .

The Fandarja has a length of 24 km. Including the source river Jaghnob, it has a total length of 140 km. The catchment area covers 3230 km². The river is fed by the snowmelt and meltwater from the glaciers . The river is flooded between May and early September . The mean discharge is 62.6 m³ / s.

The trunk road between Dushanbe and Tashkent runs along the course of the river.
