The Farmakida Cove (English; Bulgarian залив Фармакида saliw Farmakida ) is a 7 km wide and 3.3 km long bay on the northeast coast of Alexander I Island west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is dominated by Mount Calais in the southwest .
British scientists mapped it in 1971. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2017 after the Thracian fortress Farmakida in southeastern Bulgaria .
