Fast Air Carrier (shortened to Fast Air ) was a cargo airline in Chile , which was merged with Ladeco in 1998 . Operations then continued under the name Ladeco. The merged company was renamed LAN Express in 2001 .
history
Fast Air Carrier was founded in 1978 and bought a Boeing 707-320 from TWA . With this the freight traffic on the route Santiago - Miami was started. A second Boeing 707 was added in 1988.
In November 1992 the airline leased its first Douglas DC-8-71F from GPA. After taking over a second machine of this type, the last Boeing 707 was taken out of service in March 1993. LAN Chile bought the company on 26 May 1994 and merged Fast Air Carrier in 1998 with the also for LAN Chile belonging Ladeco . LAN Express emerged from the merged company in 2001 .
Fast Air remained as a freight and logistics company, with offices at the airports in Santiago, Antofagasta and Punta Arenas .
