Almost like in real life is a television series in sketch form by and with Gerhard Polt , who for the first time presented himself to the general public as a keenly observing humorist. Together with his partner Gisela Schneeberger and the author and director Hanns Christian Müller , Polt shows the bizarre situations of everyday life in the episodes.

The series produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk was first broadcast on German television from 1979 to 1988 . Since then, there have been many repetitions in almost all third programs.

Guest roles include Ruth Drexel , Helmut Fischer , Otto Grünmandl , Hans Brenner , Karl Obermayr , Jörg Hube , Cleo Kretschmer , Jochen Busse and Hans-Günter Martens , as well as Michael and Christoph Well from Biermösl Blosn .

In the year it was first broadcast, the Münchner Abendzeitung predicted that “Gerhard Polt would have to be ticked in the program in future: a first-class people observer who can use Bavarian galvanized High German like a razor” (July 2, 1979).

In 1981 Gerhard Polt, Hanns Christian Müller and Gisela Schneeberger received the Adolf Grimme Prize with bronze for the series.
