The Fastook Glacier is a 30 km long and 8 km wide glacier in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It flows from the north side of the Longhurst Plateau in the Cook Mountains in a northerly direction between the Butcher Ridge and the Finger Ridges to the Mulock Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names renamed it in 2001 after the computer scientist James L. Fastook (* 1949) from the University of Maine , who from 1978 over a period of about 20 years in the investigations of the United States Antarctic Program to Antarctic ice streams and ice shelves involved was.
