Fatehpur is the capital of the district of the same name . It lies in the Ganges plain between the Ganges and Yamuna rivers . Kanpur is just under 80 km northwest, Prayagraj 115 km east-southeast.
The national highways NH 2 ( Kanpur-Allahabad-Highway ) and NH 232 cross in Fatehpur. The Kanpur – Prayagraj railway line passes the city of Fatehpur.
