Fatoumatta Sillah (also Fatoumata ; nickname Germano ; born November 15, 2002 ) is a Gambian beach volleyball player and volleyball player .

Career

Sillah came into contact with volleyball in 2015 through the Africa Dream Project of the Gambia Volleyball Association (GVBA) and made her debut at the Brikama Volleyball Club in 2016 at the age of fourteen .

In July 2018 she started in beach volleyball together with Mariama Ginadou ( Interior ) as a U18 team at the African Youth Games 2018 . This was the first international appearance of a Gambian junior team.

In September 2018, she made her debut at the side of Sainabou Tambedou in the regular national team at an international beach volleyball tournament in Banjul, because her partner Abie Kujabi was injured.

In the 2019/20 season she played volleyball for the Slovenian club GEN-I Volley Nova Gorica .

Awards

In April 2017 she was recognized as an emerging talent at the National Sports Awards of the Sports Journalists' Association of The Gambia (SJAG) .
