Abie Kujabi (also Abi Kujabi , born May 17, 1990 ) is a Gambian beach volleyball player .

Career

Kujabi has been a national player since the founding of a Gambian national beach volleyball team in 2011. She first played for Brikama, from around 2014 for the Gambia Armed Forces .

Kujabi and Saffie Sawaneh ( Gambia Armed Forces ) won the Gambian championship in beach volleyball twice in a row (2014, 2017). In 2018/19 Kujabi and her team partner Nyima Demba lost to Fatoumatta M. Ceesay and Mariama Ginadou ( Interior ) in the final in February 2019 .

At the CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Cup 2014-2016 , Kujabi and the Gambian team of Aminata Gaye , Fatoumatta Ceesay and Sainabou Tambedou made it to the third round (final round) of the 4x4 tournament. In April 2016 in Abuja (Nigeria), the team lost four out of five games and were eliminated. This ended a winning streak of fifteen games in a row.

In March 2017, the Sawaneh / Kujabi team won the first qualifying round for the 2019 African Games in Banjul .

In September 2018, Kujabi was out due to an injury, so that Fatoumatta Sillah took on Tambedou's side at a tournament in Banjul.

In April 2019, Kujabie and Ceesay competed at the African Nations Cup Beach Volleyball Championship in Abuja (Nigeria) and finished tenth. At the African Beach Games 2019 in June, the two were eliminated in the quarter-finals. They finished tenth at the 2019 African Games in August. At the World Beach Games 2019 in October, the team of Kujabi, Ceesay, Gaye, Tambedou, Anna Marie Bojang and Mariama Ginadou took fifth place in 4x4 beach volleyball.

In January 2020, Ceesay and Kujabi failed to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
