Sainabou Tambedou (born October 15, 1990 ) is a Gambian beach volleyball player .

Career

Tambedou was a national player from the foundation of a Gambian national beach volleyball team in 2011. She first played for Jeshwang , from around 2015 for Gamtel / Gamcel and around 2019 for Interior .

In January 2011, a Gambian national team in Dakar (Senegal) finished third in the first round of qualifying for the 2012 Summer Olympics and qualified for the second round. Saffie Sawaneh / Abie Kujabi and Tambedou / Louis Joof took part in Sierra Leone in July and came in sixth.

In qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics , Kujabi / Sawaneh and Tambedou / Fatoumatta Ceesay qualified for the second round in the first round in Dakar in January 2015 . In November 2015, the 4x4 team from Tambedou, Ceesay, Kujabi and Aminata Gaye won the second round of the CAVB Continental Cup in country group B in Abidjan (Ivory Coast). Thus, the players won all twelve games played in 2015.

In the third round (final round) in Abuja (Nigeria) in April 2016, the same team lost four out of five games and was eliminated. This ended the winning streak of 15 games in a row.

In September 2018, Fatoumatta Sillah made her debut at the side of Tambedou at a tournament in Banjul, because Kujabi was injured.

At the World Beach Games 2019 in October, the team of Kujabi, Ceesay, Gaye, Tambedou, Anna Marie Bojang and Mariama Ginadou took fifth place in 4x4 beach volleyball.
