Saffie Sawaneh ( Safiatou or Saffiatou Sawaneh ; born January 10, 1988 ) is a Gambian beach volleyball player .

Career

Sawaneh was a national player from the foundation of a Gambian national beach volleyball team in 2011. She first played for Olympafrica Center / Serrekunda East , from around 2014 for the Gambia Armed Forces . There is Abie Kujabi their team mate.

In January 2011, a Gambian national team in Dakar (Senegal) finished third in the first round of qualifying for the 2012 Summer Olympics and qualified for the second round. Sawaneh / Kujabi and Tambedou / Joof took part in Sierra Leone in July and took sixth place.

In November 2012 she took part in the Zone 2 Beach Volleyball Championship in Cape Verde with Marie Wadda and reached third place.

2015 was a very successful year for the team. In qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics , Kujabi / Sawaneh and Tambedou / Ceesay qualified for the second round in the first round in Dakar in January 2015 . In April 2015, Kujabi / Sawaneh took part in the qualification for the 2015 African Games in Dakar for the first time , but were eliminated with a third place.

In March 2017, Sawaneh / Kujabi won the first qualifying round for the 2019 African Games in Banjul . Sawaneh was not in the squad at the games themselves.
