The 3rd women's fistball world championship took place in 2002 from 7-10 November in Curitiba ( Brazil ). Brazil hosted the Women's Fistball World Cup for the first time .

Attendees

A total of seven nations from three continents took part in the third women's fistball World Cup. For the first time, the women's national teams from Japan took part in a women's world championship .

First of all, the seven participating nations played each against each other in the preliminary round. The semi-finals are played by the first four teams of the preliminary round, the fifth, sixth and seventh of the preliminary round played from places 5-7 in a simple round.
