The 2nd women's fistball world championship took place from September 2nd to 5th, 1998 in Villach and Linz ( Austria ). Austria hosted the women's fistball world championship for the first time .

Attendees

A total of seven nations from Europe and South America took part in the second women's fistball World Cup. The Urgugay national team had also initially expressed interest in participating, but had to withdraw the team shortly before the World Cup.

In the preliminary round groups everyone plays against everyone. The group winners are in the semi-finals. The runners-up play against the third-placed team in the other group for the two remaining semi-finals.
