The 7th women's fistball world championship took place from October 25th to 30th, 2016 in Curitiba ( Brazil ). After 2002 , the Brazilian city hosted a women's fistball world championship for the second time . The defending champion was the German women's national team , two years after the home World Cup in Dresden they defended their title with a 4-2 win against hosts Brazil. The World Championships were organized by the International Fistball Association (IFA) and the organizing association Confederacao Brasileira de Desportes Terrestres (CBDT).
Attendees
A total of seven nations from three continental fistball associations took part in the world championships. For the first time, the women's national team from Australia took part in a women's world championship .
game schedule
First, all seven participants played a simple everyone-versus-everyone round. The four best teams of this round qualified for the semi-finals, the teams in the three other places played again in a round of everyone against everyone from places five to seven.
