Faustino Adebola Rasheed "Tino" Anjorin (born November 23, 2001 in Poole ) is an English soccer player who is under contract with Chelsea . The midfielder has been England's U19 international since September 2019 .

Career

Faustino Anjorin was born in Poole in the south of England, his father is of Nigerian descent. He joined Chelsea's U7 team at the age of six . He then went through the entire Blues Youth Academy and was promoted to the U18 team for the 2017/18 season. He scored his first goal for the U18 Premier League on September 30, 2017 (6th matchday) in a 6-1 home win against Fulham U18. On April 30, he contributed a goal and an assist to the 4-0 second leg win in the final of the FA Youth Cup . In this 2017/18 season he scored five goals in 14 league games and prepared three more goals.

After scoring five goals for the U18 team in six league games at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, he was promoted to the reserve team Chelsea FC U23. On October 27, 2018 (9th matchday) he made his debut in a 3-2 home defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion U23 when he came on for George McEachran at half-time and scored his first goal in the 73rd minute of the game. In the Premier League 2, he played seven league games in which he scored two goals. In the U18 Premier League and in other cup competitions for juniors, he was used in 14 other games in which he scored eight goals.

On September 25, 2019, he made his debut for the first team in a 7-1 home win against Grimsby Town when he came on for Pedro in the 67th minute of the game . In this 2019/20 season he was regularly used in the Premier League 2. He made his debut in the top English division on March 8, 2020 (29th matchday) in a 4-0 home win against Everton , when he was brought into the game for Willian in the 71st minute of play . On June 8, 2020, Anjorin signed a new five-year deal with the Blues .

National team

Faustino Anjorin is eligible to play for both the English and the Nigerian national team through his Nigerian father .

From February to April 2017, he played five league games for the England U16 national team .

In May 2018 he took part in the U17 European Championship 2018 in his own country with the U17 , where he played in three games. In the semi-final against the Netherlands , which was lost on penalties , he was replaced by Elijah Dixon-Bonner in the 65th minute of the game .

From September to November 2018 he played seven friendly international matches for the U18s , in which he scored four times.

He has been working for the U19s since September 2019 .
