The Fawn River is a 380 km long right tributary of the Severn River .

It is located in the Kenora District in the northwest of the Canadian province of Ontario . The river has its origin in a nameless lake 20 km west of Big Trout Lake at an altitude of about 215  m . It flows through Fawn Lake , Big Trout Lake and Angling Lake . There is the settlement of Angling Lake on the left bank of the river. The Fawn River flows further north and reaches the Severn River after another 285 km, about 100 km above its confluence with Hudson Bay .

The 121.34 km² Fawn River Provincial Park , which lies at the transition zone between boreal and subarctic forest, extends along the upper reaches of the Fawn River .
