Faye Kellerman

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Faye Kellerman , born Faye Marder (born July 31, 1952 in St. Louis , Missouri ), is an American writer who mainly writes detective novels .

Faye Kellerman holds a bachelor's degree in math and dentistry from UCLA but has not worked in those professions. She has been married to psychologist and bestselling author Jonathan Kellerman since 1972 and now lives in Los Angeles with her husband and four children . Faye Kellerman is an avowed Orthodox Jew .

Most of her novels deal with criminal cases which the California-based detective Peter Decker (in the more recent novels together with his second wife Rina Lazarus, and recently with his daughter Cindy) tries to solve; these cases almost always take place in the American-Jewish milieu. Peter Decker is a police officer who grew up as a Baptist and who, after meeting an Orthodox Jewish woman in a case, returns to his own Jewish roots and becomes a law-abiding Jew, just like his creator.

With Straight into Darkness (German: And there was Darkness ) the scenario changed: This book is about a murder case in Munich in the 1920s , that is, the context of the rise of National Socialism .

In 2004, Faye Kellerman and her husband wrote two crime novels for the first time that appeared in a book ( Double homicide: Santa Fé and Double homicide: Boston ). Since 2006, her son Jesse has also published his novels ( Sunstroke , Trouble , The Genius, etc.) and screenplays. Her daughter Aliza is also a writer.

According to its German publisher, Faye Kellerman's titles have sold over twenty million copies worldwide.
