The Federação de Basquetebol da Guiné-Bissau ( FBGB ) is the national umbrella organization for basketball in the West African Republic of Guinea-Bissau . It is based in the capital Bissau , in the office of the country's National Olympic Committee .

The association was founded long after the country was declared independent from Portugal in 1975. In 1994 the FBGB was accepted by the Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). She is also a member of the Comité Olímpico da Guiné-Bissau , the Olympic Committee of Guinea-Bissau.

The FBGB selections have not yet qualified for the Olympic Games, World Championships or the African Championship (as of 2015) . In contrast, the FBGB took part in the Jogos da Lusofonia , the games of the Portuguese-speaking world . She did not succeed in winning a medal.

Most of the country's basketball players play abroad, particularly in Portugal .
