The AfroBasket (officially: Afrobasket ), the World Association FIBA and the continental association FIBA Africa discharged African continental championship in basketball . It has been held every two years since 1962 and is also the African qualifying tournament for the Basketball World Cup or the Summer Olympics . The record holder is Angola , which has won 11 of the 15 events since 1989.
