The 1965 African Basketball Championship , the third African Basketball Championship , was held between March 28 and April 2, 1965 in Tunis , Tunisia , which hosted the championship for the first time. The winner was the national team of Morocco , which, in the absence of the defending champions United Arab Republic , won the title for the first time and was still undefeated. For the first time a team from Algeria and Libya took part in the tournament.
