The Libyan men's national basketball team represents Libya at international basketball matches. Within North Africa , the selection ranks behind nations like Egypt and Tunisia and only qualified four times for a final round of the African Basketball Championship . The last time you were represented at a continental finals was in 2009 when you finished eleventh as the host. So far it has not been enough to participate in the global finals.

The tallest person in Libya and formerly the greatest living person Suleiman Ali Nashnush (1943–1991) was also active as a national basketball player and, with a height of over 2.40 m, is considered the tallest ever active basketball player.
