The 1975 African Basketball Championship , the eighth African Basketball Championship , took place between December 20 and 28, 1975 in Alexandria , Egypt , and hosted the championship for the third time. The winner for the fourth time was the national team of Egypt , which had won its first three titles as the United Arab Republic .

The game was played in the form of a round-robin tournament . Each team played against each other exactly once, so that each team played exactly five games (a total of 15 games were played). There were two points for each win and one point for a defeat. The team with the most points became African basketball champions in 1975. The remaining placements were determined analogously.
