The Nigerian national basketball team for men represents Nigeria at international or friendly matches. The team has been one of the most successful national teams in Africa since the mid-1990s.
The successes of the Nigerian national team are based on the targeted recruitment of American college and professional basketball players of Nigerian descent. The successful qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games at the tournament in Caracas involved nine players who were born in the USA.
