Pallacanestro Trapani , entirely Club Sportivo Pallacanestro Trapani Ssd Arl , is an Italian basketball club from Trapani .

history

The club was founded in 1964 and played for the first time in a regional league, Serie C. 1983 was followed by promotion to Serie B. In the season 1989/90 Trapani reached the decisive game series for promotion to Serie A2, the second basketball league in Italy. The team prevailed 2-0 against Sangiorgese.

In 1990 Pallacanestro Trapani rose to Serie A1 for the first time, but had to relegate immediately. In the first season in Serie A, the team reached 14th place in the main round. There followed four years in the A2 series, in which they mostly occupied midfield positions. The team reached the play-offs twice for promotion to Serie A.

In 1996, the club rose from the third-class Serie B and broke up at the end of the 1996/97 season to register for the fourth-class C2 series under the new parent club Associazione Basket Trapani. Until the promotion to the second division in 2013 Trapani played alternately in the third and fourth division. During this time, the club changed names several times.
