Associazione sportiva Roseto Sharks is an Italian basketball club from Roseto degli Abruzzi . The association has its origins in the Roseto Basket association founded in 1946 . He called himself in 2001 in Roseto Sharks, before he ceased his professional gaming operations in 2006 due to bankruptcy. In 2009, after an interlude by Pallacanestro Roseto in 1946, the Roseto Sharks were re-established in the 2008/09 season. Roseto Basket (1946 to 2006)

After basketball teams had participated in competitions in the Polisportiva Rosetana association since 1922, the Roseto Basket Ball Club was founded in 1946. This club achieved promotion to the then second highest division Serie B in 1953 and four years later the promotion to the then Serie A as the highest national division succeeded. After another four seasons, however, the relegation to Serie B took place, to which one belonged from then on, except for a season in 1967/68 when they played in Serie C. After the establishment of the A2 series in 1974, another leap into the second class was achieved in 1982. The A2 series, however, only belonged to one season before being relegated to the table penultimate again. 1985 came the temporary low point when the men's teams had to be signed off from the higher-class game operations after financial difficulties.

As early as 1988, Roseto Basket was promoted to the third division in the B1 series. In 1990 they were relegated from this league and only returned to the third-class B1 series in 1997. In the 1997/98 season, the march into the A2 series succeeded. In the second season in the A2 series, the championship of this division succeeded and thus in 2000 the return to the first class. In the first season after his return, as eighth of the table after the main round, he qualified for the play-offs for the championship, in which there was no chance in the first round against children of Bologna , which this season the triple of national championship, cup win and winning the first ULEB Euroleague .
