Federazija ( Russian Федерация ; German " Federation ") is the name of a skyscraper built from 2005 to 2017 in Moscow's new Moscow City business district .

The building complex consists of two towers: The 374 meter high tower with 95 floors has the official name Vostok , the 244 meter high tower with 63 floors is called Sapad (German for “east” and “west” or “orient” and "Occident"). A 506 meter high antenna was planned between the towers and was connected to the two towers on several levels. In 2014, however, it was decided not to build it, and the lower part that had already been built was removed again.

The complex is scheduled to be completed in 2011. First of all, construction began on the smaller Sapad Tower, which was completed in 2008. The construction of the Vostok Tower followed, but it was interrupted due to the financial crisis . In the meantime it should be completed with a final height of only 243 meters. In the fall of 2011, the Russian Sberbank bought the 85th and 86th floors for its own VIP office in the higher Vostok tower and granted a loan of USD 370 million to complete the construction project in its original design in 2014.

The architects of the building are Sergei Tchoban from Berlin and Peter Schweger from Hamburg . The construction costs were originally set at around 390 million euros. The building will contain restaurants, a viewing platform and a fitness club with swimming pool on the upper two floors . The Russian bank VTB , which initially financed 50% of the investment amount, will claim 30 floors for itself. In addition, a large part of the Vostok tower is reserved for the luxury hotel Grand Hyatt Moscow .

On April 2, 2012, a fire broke out on the 67th floor of the Vostok Tower at a height of about 250 meters. The floors below were also reached by the fire, which was brought under control by the fire brigade using helicopters.
