Moscow City 2017

Moscow City ( Russian Москва-Сити Moskwa-Siti ) is a district under construction in the Russian capital Moscow . The full name is Московский международный деловой центр "Москва-Сити" (Moscow International Business Center "Moskva City"). It is mainly located on the left bank of the Moscow River on the western edge of the Central Administrative District , about 5 km from the Kremlin as the crow flies , and is primarily intended to house commercial and office buildings, including numerous architecturally spectacular skyscrapers . In some cases, luxurious residential units are planned in the buildings being built . The tallest building is the Federazija , which was the tallest skyscraper in Europe when it was completed, and is still the second tallest today.

The beginnings of Moscow City go back to the year 1992, when, with the support of the Moscow city administration, the joint stock company "Moskva-City" was founded, which leases the approximately 100 hectare site and commissioned the construction projects. The idea of this project was based on the fact that land prices on the outskirts of the city center were still relatively low and no historically valuable building fabric had to be demolished. In addition, there was already a very good transport infrastructure here that only had to be modernized and integrated. The first construction activities on the future Moscow City area began in the mid-1990s.
