Federica Carta (born January 10, 1999 in Rome ) is an Italian pop singer, who became known in 2017 for her participation in the 16th season of the talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi .

Career

Carta began taking singing lessons at the age of nine and was soon writing her own songs. The singer named Paolo Nutini and Alicia Keys as early musical role models . In 2016 she applied to the auditions for Amici with the two songs Sogni e verità and Tutto quello che ho and made it onto the show. In the course of this, she stayed with Elisa and presented two more songs ( Attraversando gli anni and Ti avrei voluto dire) , which later achieved gold and platinum status. In the final, she finally reached second place in the vocal category (behind Riki ) and third place overall. Following the show, Carta released her debut album Federica on May 19, 2017 on Universal , which was produced by Elisa's husband and producer Andrea Rigonat.

In November 2017 the song Irraggiungibile was released , on which Carta worked with the rapper Shade and which made it to number two in the single charts. The singer's second album, Molto più di un film , was released in April 2018. In the same year she took over the moderation of the chart show Top Music on Rai Gulp . In addition, she published the book May so felice . In 2018 she was the opening act at four concerts by the Italian singer Laura Pausini , and her single Mondovisione was used in the soundtrack of the film La Befana vien di notte by Michele Soavi . Together with Shade , she entered the 2019 Sanremo Festival with the song Senza farlo apposta . On February 15, 2019, Carta's third studio album Popcorn was released.
